Election Interviews Part 2: Kim and Bianca

For my second interview, I spoke with Kim and Bianca. They are new parents to a beautiful three month old named Marley, who also joined the interview. We met outside their home on their patio to speak about the upcoming election. First, I asked Kim and Bianca to share about who they are. Kim is a make up artist and esthetician. She also is an Instagram coach, Beautycounter consultant and a self care advocate. Part of her self care routine is watching reality tv and taking bubble baths. Bianca is a golfer and plant whisperer; anyone who enters her home will see lots of thriving greenery (I’ve seen it myself, pre pandemic.) She loves baking and mixing delicious cocktails. In her free time, Bianca loves watching General Hospital and eating ice cream. Their family radiates kindness and happiness; it’s truly been a joy to get to know them. As Bianca turned on a bubble machine that they keep on their patio, I asked both of them:

Why do you feel this election is important and why does your vote matter to you personally?

“The election this year has a huge impact on my family. Not only in the propositions and the potential president, but the social climate this election has brought and how the current president has given people permission to behave. I don’t want to raise our baby in this hate filled world. We need hope for a better and brighter future for our babies. Hope for our environment and civil rights.”
